What is Microblading?

Microblading is a manual permanent makeup procedure that uses a grouping or configuration of needles affixed to a handle to manually create lines that resemble eyebrow hairs. High quality pigments are customized to your ideal brow color and skin tone to ensure your brows will not only look good immediately after the procedure, but as they age too.

How long does it last?

Pigments do fade in the skin over time, but that does not make the process semi-permanent. It is impossible to predict how much pigment will fade away and how long it will take to do so with any measure of consistency or reliability, but most clients usually need a yearly touch up to keep their brows  beautifully shaped and saturated. Clients with oilier skin or lighter pigment colors (blondes, redheads and light brunettes) tend to fade faster and may need a touchup sooner than 12 months. There are many factors that can affect your permanent makeup retention, the main factors being UV exposure (the sun) and natural skin exfoliation so it is very important to wear sunscreen to protect your permanent makeup from premature fading.

Other fading factors are:

  • Chemical and acid peels

  • Microdermabrasion

  • Laser procedures

  • MRI scans

  • RetinA/Tretinoin or any other rapid skin exfoliation products

  • Accutane

  • Certain medications or supplements

When using any of these, please let your technician or Dr. know that you have permanent makeup so they may take the necessary precautions to protect your beauty investment.

Am I a good candidate for permanent makeup?

Because everybody is different, microblading does not heal the same on every client. Clients with oilier skin types or large pores in their brow or forehead area tend to heal less crisp, softer, more blended or possibly solid because your natural oils can mix with the pigment and cause it to blur. If you have oily/super oily skin, a fusion or powder brow may be a better choice for your skin type.

Permanent makeup is NOT recommended for any clients who are or have:

  • Pregnant or nursing
  • Diabetic
  • Undergoing Chemotherapy (consult your doctor)
  • Viral infections and/or diseases
  • Epilepsy
  • A Pacemaker or major heart problems
  • Had an Organ transplant
  • Skin irritations or Psoriasis near the treated area (rashes, sunburn, acne, etc.)
  • Sick (cold, flu, etc.)
  • Had Botox in the past 2 months

Is it safe?

Yes, cleanliness and safety are always top priority. The procedure area and all equipment is sterilized and sanitized before and after each procedure. All microblading supplies are sterilized and single use, so they are safely disposed of after every client ensuring there is never any cross contamination or unsanitary practices.

What can I expect during my procedure?

The entire procedure takes about 2 ½ hours. We will work together to decide on the ideal brow shape that will enhance your features using special measuring tools. Once we both agree on your optimal brow shape, I will customize the pigment to your skin tone, hair and desired color. After we have chosen your specific brow shape and color, I will begin the permanent makeup procedure. At the end of the procedure I will go over all of the after care and what you should expect as you begin your 30 day healing process.

Does it hurt?

Most clients say that they experience little to no pain and some clients fall asleep during their procedure. But because everyone has different pain tolerances, some clients may feel more discomfort than others.
